DIY Floral Centerpiece

Hey Creators! Looking for an affordable and elegant floral centerpiece idea for a wedding or special occasion? Here's an easy solution!

The things you'll need for this project are..

• a wine glass, I purchased mine from Daiso Japan for $1.50. You can probably find cheaper ones at the Dollar Tree or at your local thrift shops.

• small glass bowl, I also purchases this from Daiso Japan for $1.50.

• floral foam, make sure its floral foam for fresh flowers that absorbs water. I bought this at Daiso Japan as well for $1.50.

• water, in a small bowl or bucket.

• flowers, fresh flowers from your local farmers market will save you tons of money.

• scissors

• tape, clear tape.
  

Step 1. Cut out a block of floral foam and trim the corners to fit in the small glass bowl. The foam can stick out a half inch from the top of the glass bowl.

Step 2. Take the foam and set in the bowl of water. Let it absorb the water and place it back in the small glass bowl.

Step 3. Flip the wine glass over so the bottom is facing up. I chose a wine glass with more details vs the plain wine glasses. You want to place the small glass bowl on top of the wine glass bottom which should be facing up since you've flipped the glass. Tape the small glass bowl with the floral foam in it to the wine glass. Be sure to secure it by taping vertically and horizontally.

Step 4. Now it's time to add flowers! Start from the bottom up. I wanted my flowers to dangle off the side so I added vines and leaves. *If you're on a tight budget I recommend purchasing flowers from your local farmers market. The only down side to this is since the flowers are locally grown the variety of flowers will depend on the season. If you are set and stone on certain types of flowers and colors you may be better off going to a floral wholesale, but always check out the farmers market first.  

Step 5. Get creative! I added larger/bushier flowers first to give me a base to work with and construct the shape of the arrangement. Fill in the gaps with more flowers and once it to your liking, you're done!

Note: I decided to take out the pink flowers in my arrangement. I felt like an all white arrangement matched the style of my wine glass more :)
